MP proposes to invite heads of security agencies and Foreign Minister to the Parliament

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev-APA. The Parliament holds the next sitting of spring session, APA reports.
Speaker of Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov congratulated all Azerbaijani women and woman MPs on International Women’s Day in the beginning of the sitting. The gifts have been presented to the women MPs. MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi expressed her gratitude for attention paid towards the women. MP noted that Azerbaijan took care of the women. Ibrahimgizi stressed that President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva had taken large-scale measures with regard to women.

MP also commented on current issues. MP Gudrat Hasanguliev added that the statement of the government would be sounded in the next session of the Parliament and stated that heads of special agencies and Foreign Minister should come to the Parliament.
“We have questions to the Foreign Minister. He should clarify Turkey-Armenia relations here,” he said. Hasanguliev added that OSCE MG Co-Chairs should be prevented to arrive in Baku and Azerbaijan should refuse their Co-Chairmanship.
“Their position des not coincide with the interests of Azerbaijan,” he said. MP stressed that there had not been any information about the murder of General Rail Rzayev and demanded the report about the issue.
Speaker Ogtay Asadov in return said that Turkish-Armenian relations have been discussed frequently in recent days. The speaker said Azerbaijan and Turkey were “One nation and two states”. He said Turkey was a great country and had its independent policy. “We are fraternal countries. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also said that there was no reason for concern”.

MP Siyavush Novruzov criticized the points of US State Department’s report mentioned Azerbaijan. He said there were injustices against Azerbaijan.

MP Fazil Mustafa said headscarves were banned in the secondary schools and number of offices. “If so, let pass a law banning the headscarves in Azerbaijan and once for all know that headscarves are banned”.

Asadov said this issue shouldn’t be discussed in Milli Majlis and there were relevant organizations for that.

Then MPs started to hear the report of Human Rights Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova.
