Bill on â€œAdministrative arrest of servicemenâ€ recommended for parliamentâ€™s discussion

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. The parliamentâ€™s standing commission on security and defense issues has today held a meeting, the parliamentâ€™s press service told APA. First vice-speaker of the parliament, chairman of the commission Ziyafat Asgarov gave information about the bill on â€œAdministrative arrest of servicemenâ€. He said the document consisting of 5 chapters and 31 articles had been prepared with participation of specialists and the related ministries and bodies had given positive opinion on the bill.
â€œThe new law the rules, terms, legal results of the application of the administrative arrest on the people serving in the Armed Forces and other armed units set up in line with Azerbaijani legislation and other issues concerning the application of the administrative arrest,â€ he said.

The parliamentarians highly appreciated the bill and made remarks on some articles. They commented on the term of administrative arrest, rules of its application, legal results, coverage of the notion of administrative offence, cases mitigating the responsibility of the serviceman for his administrative offence and other issues. It was noted that non-application of the administrative arrest on servicewomen arises from its humanism.

The bill was recommended for the parliamentâ€™s discussion.
