Parliament’s commission on economic policy discusses draft law on special economic zones

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev–APA. The Parliament’s Standing Commission on Economic Policy held its meeting on Tuesday. A draft law on the special economic zones was discussed at the meeting, APA reports. Chairman of the commission Ziyad Samedzadeh said more than 60 amendments and annexes were made to the document after its first reading. He said this law would promote the acceleration of development rate in Azerbaijan. Samedzadeh noted that adoption of such law is important in the period of financial crisis in the world. The document was recommended to the parliament for the second reading.

19-article draft law regulates establishing and managing the special economic zones in Azerbaijan, its legal and economic issues and sets rules of organizing the ownership activity in those zones.
