Azerbaijani parliament to discuss several social draft laws

He said new draft laws are about the social services, family planning and reproductive health, bio-ethics, restriction of tobacco production. It is also planning to make changes and amendments to the Family Code.

Lawmakers propose to add to the Family Code an article about the compulsory medical examination of the couples before the marriage.

Guliyev said draft law on bio-ethics or the rights of patient would regulate the relations between doctors and patients or medical organizations and patients. The draft law is expected to be discussed in the parliamentâ€™s autumn session this year, but its adoption can be possible during the spring session in 2012.

The lawmaker also spoke about the draft law on the restriction of tobacco production. â€œAccording to the procedure, the draft law will be discussed at the parliament after the Head of State will make comments on it. The adoption of this law is necessaryâ€.

The parliament will begin its autumn session on September 30.
