North Korea has sent 12,000 of its citizens to Russia to work on assembling Shahed-type attack drones in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Russia's Tatarstan region, UNIAN reports.
This was stated in a joint report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the George W. Bush Institute.
According to the report's authors, North Korean citizens receive wages of $2.50 per hour. However, 70–90% of their earnings are appropriated by the North Korean government.
