The first tanker carrying diesel fuel from Russia to the United States will depart on October 22, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said, APA reports.
According to him, the volume of cargo carried by the tanker amounts to 40,000 tons.
"We will meet the US demand for diesel fuel within our capabilities. The next tankers will also be sent to the United States in the near future," Novak stated.
Note that the issue of diesel fuel supplies between Russia and the United States came onto the agenda following a telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 9. Trump announced that Russia had agreed to supply diesel fuel to the United States and international markets.
