Montenegro has officially informed Russia about the introduction of visa requirements for Russian citizens from November 1, Russian Ambassador to Montenegro Alexander Lukashik said, APA reports.
According to the diplomat, the Montenegrin side has sent Russia an official notification that the agreement signed between the two countries on September 24, 2008, on the conditions for mutual travel of citizens will cease to be in force from November 1.
"From the specified date, Russian citizens will be required to have a Montenegrin visa to enter Montenegro, or visas from a number of other countries, including those in the Schengen Area," the Ambassador noted.
It should be noted that Montenegro adopted this decision as part of its alignment with the European Union's visa policy.
