57% of European companies participating in a survey conducted in Azerbaijan assessed the current economic situation in the country as satisfactory, APA-Economics reports, citing the results of the EU Business Climate Report presented at the Azerbaijan–European Union Business Forum.
According to the information, the study was conducted based on a database of 740 companies. A total of 69 companies representing 19 sectors and 29 countries participated in the survey, and an additional 22 interviews were conducted.
78% of respondents are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. Although 29% of the companies have not yet entered the Azerbaijani market, they are interested in operating here.
It was noted that assessments of the business environment have weakened slightly compared to last year due to the impact of the geopolitical situation.
Political and social stability, energy supply, and logistics opportunities were assessed positively in the survey. Access to finance, the quality of vocational education, payment discipline and access to new technologies were identified among the main challenges.
