The European Investment Bank (EIB) is considering investment opportunities in the transport connectivity sector in Azerbaijan, including the Nakhchivan railway project, Stella Renita, Head of the EIB Group Regional Representation for the South Caucasus, said during a panel discussion at the Azerbaijan–European Union Business Forum, APA-Economics reports.
According to her, the bank is currently assessing investment opportunities in specific projects related to the development of regional connectivity in Azerbaijan.
"We are currently considering investment opportunities in the connectivity sector in Azerbaijan and a number of specific projects, such as the Nakhchivan railway," S. Renita emphasized.
She stated that the EIB does not approach regional connectivity solely from the perspective of transport infrastructure. The bank is also exploring projects in the fields of energy and digital connectivity.
Among the initiatives being considered in this direction are the Black Sea Digital Connectivity Project and the Caspian–Black Sea Green Energy Corridor.
S. Renita added that EIB representatives will also participate in the presentation of the feasibility study for the Green Energy Corridor project.
