Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, while presenting the draft agreement on the TRIPP project to the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, has not ruled out the possibility that some infrastructure lines under the TRIPP project, including gas or oil pipelines, could be laid outside Syunik Province, News-Armenia reports.
The Minister stated that it is difficult to imagine how pipelines could be laid along the future railway line. According to him, the area between the Araz River and the cliffs is very narrow, and space is limited there.
Mirzoyan noted that railway and electricity lines could pass through the southern section, as they did during the Soviet era. Gas and oil pipelines, however, could be laid through other parts of Armenian territory.
The Minister added that the exact area through which the infrastructure will pass has not yet been determined.
