Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is demanding the resumption of large-scale military operations against Iran and to "finish the job" in talks with the United States, The Financial Times reports, citing U.S. and Israeli officials.
According to the newspaper's sources, U.S. President Donald Trump told the Israeli side that Washington would not take escalatory steps ahead of the U.S. congressional midterm elections scheduled for November 3.
The FT writes that discussions about the potential resumption of military operations against Iran may also be a tactical move aimed at putting pressure on Tehran and obtaining concessions from it.
According to the report, Netanyahu is advocating the position of "finishing the job" regarding Iran in his contacts with the United States.
