Elmira Suleymanova: It is not in the competence of Human Rights Commissioner to realize Strasserâ€™s visit to Azerbaijan

Whom to invite is in the competence of the state,â€ Human Rights Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova told journalists, APA reports. She said it is not in the competence of Human Rights Commissioner to realize Strasserâ€™s visit to Azerbaijan.
â€œHuman Rights Commissioner can not interfere in the foreign policy, generally in the policy,â€ she said.

Human Rights Commissioner also commented on the state of human rights in Azerbaijan and the statements of the international organization concerning it.
â€œOne can admit the existence of a problem in the protection of human rights. The question is that there are enough problems in the countries of the persons, who criticize Azerbaijan. They admit it themselves. But the question is that establishment of democratic legal state is the major political target of Azerbaijan. Of course, new problems arise as there is progress,â€ she said.

Elmira Suleymanova said the state of human rights in the country is being studied.
â€œIn other words, we work within the framework of the authority of human rights commissioner,â€ she said.
