Head of Nagorno Karabakhâ€™s Azerbaijani community: Sargsyan is the enemy of his people, young generation

Baku â€“ APA. â€œSerzh Sargsyanâ€™s recent statement is unbecoming to president. He brings up the young generation in the spirit of aggressor. Sargsyan knows very well that Karabakh is historical land of Azerbaijan and Armenians occupied it. No country supports Armeniaâ€™s aggressive policy,â€ chairman of the Public Union of the Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, head of the executive power of Shusha region Bayram Safarov said in his interview to the website of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), APA reports.

Safarov considers that Armenian Presidentâ€™s recent statements demonstrate his countryâ€™s position.
â€œThis position consists of occupation, terrorism, killing of civilians. With this statement Sargsyan showed their true colors. Bringing up Armenian youth in this manner while the entire world demonstrates initiative to ensure peace and security contradicts the modern challenges. Actually, Sargsyan understands that his recommendations will not be realized. Armenia has a lot of problems. Under these circumstances they will neither continue occupying Karabakh, nor realize their claims against Turkey. We want the conflict to be solved peacefully. President Ilham Aliyev said several times that we want peace. Sargsyan calls the Armenian youth to war. You know that Armenian people leave the country, they will hardly return. It is illogical to make territorial claims against Turkey having 70 million population. Therefore, Sargsyanâ€™s views must not be taken seriously. Sargsyan is the enemy of his people, young generation,â€ he said.

Safarov said the processes show that Armenia does not intend to give up its insidious policy against Turkey. Safarov also touched on the opening of borders.
â€œOne day the border between the two countries will be opened. But on one condition. Turkey closed the border protesting against the occupation of Azerbaijanâ€™s territories by Armenia, it will not likely take a step back and open the border as the occupation continues. I believe that Turkey perceives the reality and the borders will not be opened in the short run. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also said this during his recent visit to Azerbaijan. The borders may be opened after Azerbaijani territories are released,â€ he said.

Safarov said the world community still demonstrates double standards. â€œToday Sargsyan propagandizes hostility among the Armenian youth. Sargsyan acknowledged in his interviews to the foreign agencies that they killed peaceful people in Khojaly. Armenian president admitted before the world community that he is terrorist, criminal and killer of innocent people. Sooner or later Sargsyanâ€™s words will be used against him before the court. But the worldâ€™s countries still donâ€™t make any step against the invader. Resolutions adopted by the international organizations are not fulfilled. UN Security Councilâ€™s resolutions demanding withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan are not fulfilled about 20 years. But resolution on Libya was fulfilled immediately. NATO forces launch strikes on the Libyan government and public buildings because domestic political struggle in this country. All of EU, America speaks about Libya, restoration of justice and human rights there. Why they donâ€™t want to restore the rights of one million people expelled from their homelands in Azerbaijan? Donâ€™t the countries and international organizations, which introduce themselves as the human rights defenders, see the situation of our internally displaced persons? How long these people should wait? We are supporters of peace. We support the solution to the conflict through the negotiations. We support President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s policy. Our president stated that we donâ€™t hold negotiations for the negotiations and if the peace talks have no results, we will liberate our lands by military way. In this case the world community canâ€™t rebuke Azerbaijanâ€.

Safarov spoke about the current socio-economic situation in Armenia. â€œArmenian population is rapidly decreasing. 18 800 people left Armenia in the past eight months. If it continues so, no one will stay in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. Everything in Armenia is old. We see on television that they use Soviet-time transports and peopleâ€™s living conditions are very low. There is construction work in Yerevan. Intelligent Armenians know that Azerbaijan will not lave Karabakh for them. Present Armenia was established in the Azerbaijani territory. Early in the last century the Armenian state was established in these territories for certain reasons, but Armenians are ungrateful people. Probably they understand that Azerbaijan will not make such mistake once more. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized many times that Karabakh is our historic land and we donâ€™t allow establishing second Armenian state in the Azerbaijani territories. Nagorno Karabakh can be granted with certain status, which will allow our internally displaced persons, including the people expelled from Nagorno Karabakh to return to their homeland. Karabakhâ€™s Armenians can live and work under the laws of Azerbaijan and benefit from the development of our country. If they donâ€™t want to live so, let them to go to live in Armenia. We donâ€™t intend to make compromise to themâ€.
