Meeting of diplomats of foreign countries and international organizations in Azerbaijan with members of Public Chamber finished

APA reports that after the meeting, head of OSCE Baku Office Ali Bilge Cankorel told journalists that the meeting was held on PCâ€™s initiative. The â€œRoad Mapâ€ elaborated by PC with intent of public dialog was discussed, they were informed on it. They exchanged view on the other issues including PCâ€™s rally scheduled to June 19.

Asked about the critical opinions of YAP functionaries, the diplomat said: â€œIt is their opinionâ€.

Musavat Chairman Isa Gambar said that the meeting was very interesting: â€œWe had large and comprehensive talk. The sides both expressed opinions and asked questions. I consider that that it was a meeting which contributed to Azerbaijanâ€™s integration to Europe and our countryâ€™sâ€™ democratic development. We discussed the Road Map, political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, problems of civil society, the education of oppositionist youth in the European universities, fired from the local universitiesâ€.

Asked about opinions of YAP functionaries about this meeting, Gambar said: â€œIt was just anxietyâ€.

Musavat chairman noted the discussion of PCâ€™s rally scheduled to June 19: â€œBoth sides said that they supported the authorized rally. But everybody understands that it depends on the government, but not us. We want to hold a peaceful rallyâ€.

OSCE Baku Officeâ€™s Head Ali Bilge Cankorel, Council of Europe Secretary Generalâ€™s Special Representative to Azerbaijan Constantin Yerocostopoulos, Head of the Political Section of the British Embassy Pauline Clarke, representatives of diplomatic representations of the European Union, Poland, Germany, US, France and Turkey attended the meeting.

Isa Gambar, Ali Karimli, Vidadi Mirkamal, Mehriban Vazir and Zafar Guliyev attended the meeting from the members of Public Chamberâ€™s Coordination Council.
