Baku hosts international conference on necessity of common definition of â€œpolitical prisonerâ€ concept â€“ <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION </font>

The conferenceâ€™s chairman, PACEâ€™s honorary chairman Jaakko Laakso said that this event will give an important contribution to the international community on this issue.

In his speech, head of the department of Presidential Administration on work with law-enforcement organizations Fuad Aleskerov spoke about the importance of the event and said that the common approach would be on this issue. Deputy Justice Minister Togrul Musayev said he looks forward to the conference contributing to the determination of criterions of the â€œpolitical prisonerâ€ concept.

Speaking about the essence of political prisoner problem in the Council of Europe, MP, AVCIYA President Elkhan Suleymanov said that some organizations were guided by the political interests drawing up the list on this issue. According to him, the determination of political prisoner concept is one of the important issues which the international community faces. He expressed confidence that the legal approach will be determined on this issue.

Judge of Belgian Constitutional Court Jean-Paul Murman delivered a speech on the topic â€œMonitoring of legal obligations by political organizations: â€œstrong and weak sides, the situation of monitoring of political prisonersâ€.

The international experts in this sphere Lauri Hanni Kaynen, Roman Vierush Elski, Harry Bloed, Edmon Jouve and others delivered speeches on historical aspects, definition and critical approach of â€œpolitical prisonerâ€ concept.
