Military commissariatâ€™s employees give testimony in Bakhtiyar Hajijev trial

Baku. Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. Nizami district court of Ganja City continues hearing on the criminal case of former deputy candidate Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, defense lawyer Elchin Namazov told APA.

The defense side asked the court to tape the trial, but was not allowed. The court also rejected petition by about 20 people to release Hajiyev on personal bail. Hajijev refused to attend the court investigation.

Employees of the Nizami district military commissariat, as well the people claimed to beat Hajiyev gave testimony before the court.

The hearing will be continued on May 10. The lawyer said Hajiyev urged him not to deliver speech. He said only public prosecutor will deliver speech.

Hajiyev was detained for pre-trial detention on March 4, 2011 facing with charges under article 321.1 of the Criminal Code (avoiding the military service). The criminal investigation was launched on January 24.
