APA reports that the proposal to held rally on May 15 was not accepted. The other decision was accepted.

The decision says that, considering the freedom of assembly as one of the decisive directions and means of fundamental reforms and democratization process in the country, showing the limitation of freedom of assembly in Azerbaijan by the government as the main cause of confrontation, declaring the achieving of freedom of assembly as one of the Public Chamber’s main goals, the Public Chamber’s session considers it necessary to continue peaceful rallies.

At the same time, considering the appeals to the authorities for holding discussions on of rallies and demonstrations in Baku, as well as consultations by the representatives of international organizations on this issue, it considers advisable the determination of the date and place of the next meeting after the clarifying of the results of discussions and consultations.

Thereupon, the PC’s session has ended.

The passing of a decision on holding the next protest action was expected at the PC’s today’s session. But it was impossible because of disagreement between PC members. The disagreements sometimes turned into the keen argument. PC member Soltanhamid Malikov called Badraddin Guliyev “market man”.
