Sardar Jalaloglu: I regard the April 17 rally as the failure of the Public Chamber

Yesterdayâ€™s protest action showed that to hold such protest actions without preparing the people, taking necessary measures, attracting the attention of the international community will at best create the scenery of that of April 17. I regard it as the failure of the political struggle of the Public Chamber,â€ chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu told APA.

Sardar Jalaloglu said he warned at the meetings with the party leaders that the Public Chamber will fail.
â€œUnfortunately, there was unhealthy attitude towards our right analyses. The process is developing on the scenario of that in 2003, 2005. Almost the same persons were arrested, the international community does not react to the happenings, the leadership of the Public Chamber fails to pass an adequate decision,â€ he said.

Chairman of ADP considers that after the April 2 rally, the mass actions should have been stopped, oppositionâ€™s broader coalition established, all political forces united in one center, pressure exerted on the authorities for political changes in Azerbaijan.
â€œBut the actions of the Public Chamber showed that they are not interested in the unification of the opposition. They do not want political changes to be made in Azerbaijan through reforms, therefore, they set their policy hastily, affected by the spirit of the Arab revolutions. Of course, the decisions referring to emotions failed,â€ he said.
