Public Chamber Coordination Council members hold press conference

Baku. Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. Members of the Public Chamber Coordination Council held a press conference at the Musavat Partyâ€™s headquarters. According to APA, chairman of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli and leader of Musavat Party Isa Gambar said that the Public Chamberâ€™s protest action on April 2 was realized.

Kerimli said Hasan Karimov injured during the action would undergo treatment in Turkey. He added that other parties would also join the Public Chamberâ€™s protest actions in the future.

Isa Gambar said developments in Azerbaijan entered the new phase: â€œWe call on the authorities to carry out reformsâ€.

Members of the Public Chamber Vidadi Mirkemal and Mehriban Vezir also spoke at the press conference.

The Public Chamber issued a statement about detention of some oppositionists and use of force by police against them on April 2 and before. They condemned the detention of protesters, demanded their release and bringing police officers to responsibility for breaking up the action.
