The potential of every citizen should be used for the development of the country, said Osmanli and added that involvement of any young man or woman in the politics is normal. “We have not to forget that only 10 percent of adult Azerbaijani people are party members. About 90 percent of the electorate is non-party. It means majority of the electorate is neutral. Therefore it is not correct to consider the political position of one group as the position of majority”.

Touching on the connection between the outside influences and the youth studying abroad, the parliamentarian said they are different notions.
“One can not say that all outside influences are negative. Is it bad if scientific development, technological development, high-quality education, medicine, communications, information technologies, know how comes from abroad? As regards the negative influence, it is no secret that there are countries that dislike our independence, attempt to look down on us, violate our territorial integrity, attempt to interfere in our internal affairs, have an eye on natural resources, hate our development, and there are forces that support them and those who become a tool to these forces. But it does not mean that speaking about these forces we should think of our youth studying abroad. This is inadmissible. Therefore, I regret that some opposition parties, radical groups and media representatives groundlessly name our youth studying abroad. The activity of everybody, irrespective of being member of opposition or ruling party, living abroad or in the country, must be regulated by the law. If an individual or an organization makes illegal challenges, it should be attributed to that person or organization. Mistaken views concerning the youth studying abroad must end. The great majority of the young people, who return to the country having completed education, are personnel playing role in the development of our country, those who stay abroad play the role of our moral ambassadors and representatives. Our state has always cared and will care for these youth,” he said.

Osmanli said currently about 11 000 Azerbaijani students are studying abroad and most of them return home after finishing the education. “There are different and colorful ideas as much as different people in the world. Therefore it would be unfair to speak on behalf of all young people. The common goal – to be useful for the development of our country - is same for absolute majority.
