Ali Karimli meets with Baku Main Police Office Chief Rafig Abbasov and Baku Prosecutor Aziz Seyidov

Afterwards chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party told journalists that he met with Chief of Baku Main Police Office Rafig Abbasov and Prosecutor of Baku Aziz Seyidov.
â€œConcern was expressed over the rally scheduled by the Public Chamber for April 2. Chief of police office and Prosecutor said that rally in the Fountain Square was not agreed with Baku Mayorâ€™s Office. They advised to hold rally in the venue considered expedient by the Mayorâ€™s Office. I said that Azerbaijanâ€™s Constitution gives us right to freedom of assembly and we insist on holding the rally. Our rally will be peaceful. We are not responsible for any provocation,â€ he said.

Ali Karimli said he expressed his protest against the detention of the members of the opposition parties and the rally held outside his house.

Representatives of OSCE Office in Baku, Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan and UK embassy are also in front of Baku Main Police Office.
