The head and two officials of the municipality of Sabail district of Baku arrested

It is reported that the citizens of district Almas Khalilov and Arif Shamilov asked for "hot line" of the prosecutor to complain that despite the courtâ€™s decision (3rd July 2007) about their land, the head of the Sabail municipality Mubariz Ibrahimov, a lawyer of this Community Arif Alizadeh and deputy head of the commission on land and construction Javid Hasanov demanded a bribe of 10 thousand AZN (AZN 5 thousand each) to allocate 0.06 hectares of land to build private house.

Municipality officials agreed to reduce the amount of bribes to 8 thousand manat.
Employees of the Office for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office on March 29 about at 12 oâ€™clock came to building of municipality located at Alibay brothers street, 61, Baku for investigation and they viewed building after complainer leave the building and gave 8 thousand AZN to Arif Alizadeh.

During the inspection law enforcement officers found 8 thousand manats wrapped in newspaper in the office of deputy municipal Aliyar Farzaliyev, on the radiator heating system of Arif Alizadeh who was at office at that time.

On the basis of collected materials a criminal case launched under article 311.3.1 and 311.3.3 (a group of people conspiring to bribe a large size). The investigation also revealed that Mubariz Ibragimov has repeatedly ignored the decision of Sabail court on the allocation of land to Almas Khalilov and Arif Shamilov for private housing.
