New president of European Azerbaijanis Congress elected

Press service of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora told APA that head of the Coordination Center of Azerbaijanis in Germany Samira Patzer-Ismayilova was elected the president of the Congress.

Then the Congressâ€™ executive and inspection committees, as well as first vice president and vice presidents have been elected in the meeting. President of the Congress of Benelux Azerbaijanis Sahil Gasimov and chairman of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Circles Federation Bilal Dundar were elected first vice-presidents of the Congress.

President of the Congress of Belarus Azerbaijanis Natig BagÄ±rov, chairman of the Sweden-Azerbaijan Federation Sattar Sevgin, member of the Estonian parliament and co-chair of the Baku club Eldar Afandiyev, chairman of the All-Russian Congress of Azerbaijanis in Moscow Ilgar Hajiyev were elected vice-presidents of the Congress.

The Congress adopted resolution and other documents, and addressed the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Head of the public policy department of the Azerbaijanâ€™s Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov, members of the parliament, representatives of foreign countries and other diaspora organizations attended the event.

The Congress of European Azerbaijanis was founded on April 17, 2004 in Berlin. The organization was headed by Bashar Komur in the past period.
