Two events held in Mexico on occasion of Nowruz Holiday - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku â€“ APA. Two events were held in Mexico City, capital of Mexico. Azerbaijani embassy in Mexico told APA that event dedicated to Nowruz Day was held at the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Mexico Ilgar Mukhtarov, officials of Iranian, Iraqi and Turkish embassies, as well as deputies of Mexicoâ€™s Congress, Mexico City leadership and representatives of Mexico’s National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) attended the event.

Ambassador Mukhtarov said that â€œInternational Nowruz Dayâ€ resolution was passed by the UN General Assembly in February of 2010 on the initiative of Azerbaijan. The diplomat congratulated event participants and world nations celebrating Nowruz holiday, spoke about historical roots, traditions of this holiday.

Deputy of Mexicoâ€™s Congress Ramon Ximenes said that Azerbaijanâ€™s culture share several common cultural values with Maya and Aztec cultures.

President of the CNDH Rosa Maria Pardinyas and general Coordinator of Permanent Commission for Religious Tolerance and Freedom of conscience Themis CortÃ©s wished peace and tranquility to Azerbaijani nation.

After the event attended by local media representatives and TV channel employees of the Congress, the participants took part in symbolic tree planting ceremony in the yard of Public Park of the Mexicoâ€™s Parliament.

Azerbaijani embassy in Mexico held an event devoted to Nowruz Holiday as well. Members of diplomatic corps accredited in Mexico, ambassadors of Turkey and Ukraine in Mexico, representatives of Azerbaijani, Ukrainian, Russian, Georgian, Tatar, Jewish communities and different organizations of Mexico participated in the event.
