Washington. Isabel Levine-APA. US Congressman from the state of Virginia James P. Moran assured the Azerbaijani Diaspora members that he is following progress on issue of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict very closely, APA’s Washington DC correspondent reports.

“I am encouraged that our government has actively supported a multilateral effort to resolve continuing conflicts, including the dispute over Nagorno Karabakh, through the Minsk Group”, Congressman Moran notes in his letter to the Diaspora members.

The letter came after the Azerbaijani Diaspora’s campaign for getting support for the commemoration of the tragic events of February 28, 1988 in Sumgait.

“There is much work to be done to achieve peace and security across the Caucasus. I believe the United States is right to work with the countries of the region as well as other allies to fortify the rule of law and support democratic traditions in Armenia and Azerbaijan”, said Congressman Moran in his reply.
