On November 18, Azerbaijan's initiative to measure climate literacy through the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) within the framework of COP29 was supported, the Ministry of Science and Education told APA.

Thus, during the high-level panel session on "Measuring environmental literacy within the framework of international assessment", an agreement on joint cooperation on assessing students' climate literacy within the framework of PISA was signed between the Ministry of Science and Education and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev and the Director of Education and Skills of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Andreas Schleicher.

According to the agreement, a framework document and learning materials on the organization of this process will be developed at the initiative of Azerbaijan for the next PISA study to be held in 2029.

It should be noted that the agreement in question is considered an important step in terms of focusing global efforts on integrating climate literacy into education as a result of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
