According to him, this is a highly promising process.
With respect to Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, Ter-Petrosyan said: “There is no sense in declaring national mourning. We must take advantage of the system to build up our country. Talks about Armenia’s lost sovereignty are exaggerations.”
The first president of Armenia did not share the opinion that Armenia will lose its sovereignty by becoming a member of the EEU. He noted that all states partially lose their sovereignty when they join an organization. “If Armenia signed an agreement with the EU, it would also lose part of its sovereignty, perhaps even to a greater extent than in case of EEU,” Ter-Petrosyan said.
As regards further actions of the trio, Levon Ter-Petrosyan refused to give details, saying that they “are not going to hand their tactical steps to Serzh Sargsyan on a plate”.
