Formula 1 and the International Automobile Federation (FIA) have announced the calendar for the 2027 Formula 1 World Championship following its approval by the World Motor Sport Council, Baku City Circuit told APA.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place on September 24–26/
The 2027 season will begin with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 12–14. The final race of the World Championship will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on December 10–12.
The championship will consist of 24 rounds held across 22 countries. In 2027, the number of sprint races will increase from six to ten. The season's first official pre-season tests will take place at the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain on February 24–27.
"The 2027 FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar clearly demonstrates the growing global popularity and continued development of our sport. Holding 24 Grands Prix across five continents, the return of Portugal and Türkiye to the calendar, and the expansion of the sprint race program bring together tradition, innovation, and fan interest while maintaining the highest sporting standards.

Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali noted that the 2027 calendar brings together some of the world's most famous circuits and most dynamic cities, setting a spectacular stage for another unforgettable Formula 1 season: "We are delighted to welcome Portugal and Türkiye back to the championship and to increase the number of sprint races to ten. This promises fans more intense competition, dramatic moments, and wheel-to-wheel battles that make Formula 1 so special.

Thus, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held on the same dates in both 2026 and 2027 — September 24–26.
