Participants of the international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the prominent Azerbaijani scholar, theologian and philosopher Sheikh Seyyid Yahya Bakuvi Shirvani visited the city of Shusha as part of their visit program to Karabakh, APA's Karabakh bureau reports.
The delegation first visited Jidir Duzu.
The guests were informed about the historical and cultural significance of the area and the city of Shusha, and they admired the view from Jidir Duzu.
The participants then visited the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, where they were informed about the vandalism committed against Shusha's historical and cultural heritage during the occupation and the restoration and reconstruction work being carried out in the city.
It was noted that Shusha had 17 neighborhoods in ancient times, each of which had a mosque, a bathhouse and a spring. Following the city's liberation from occupation, the Yukhari and Ashaghi Govhar Agha, Saatli, Mamayi and Chol Gala mosques have been restored, and construction of the New Shusha Mosque has begun.
