Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has received Giorgi Zakarashvili, the newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, APA’s local bureau reports.
Georgia’s Presidential Administration released information about the meeting.
During the meeting held at the Presidential Palace, the parties discussed the importance of the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, as well as prospects for further deepening bilateral relations.
Special attention was paid to the long-standing friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan, as well as the role of both countries in promoting peace, stability and economic development in the region.
Mikheil Kavelashvili congratulated Giorgi Zakarashvili on the start of his diplomatic mission and wished him success in his future activities.
