Ukrainian and US teams are working to arrange a meeting between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump in New York and to make it as substantive as possible, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said at a briefing on Wednesday, September 16, APA reports citing Ukrinform.
“The teams are indeed working on the possibility of a meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States and on its substance, to make it as substantive as possible. That is all I can say at this point,” Tykhyi said.
President Zelenskyy’s visit to New York would necessarily include a Ukrainian-American component, he added.
“I mean not only a meeting with the President, but also other contacts — with members of Congress, business circles, and the Ukrainian community in the United States. So the agenda is much broader,” the Foreign Ministry spokesperson clarified.
