The documents required to be submitted for the granting of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan's pension to family members of deceased deminers have been determined, APA reports.
The Cabinet of Ministers has made amendments to the “Rules for the Assignment, Payment, Suspension of Payment of Social Benefits and Safeguarding of Social Benefit Files” in this regard.
The following documents must be submitted for the granting of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan's pension to family members of deminers who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance while carrying out demining activities or who subsequently died from injuries sustained in such an accident:
- A certificate issued by the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan confirming that the deminer died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance while carrying out demining activities or subsequently died from injuries sustained in such an accident;
- A copy of the death certificate of the deminer who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance while carrying out demining activities or subsequently died from injuries sustained in such an accident;
- Copies of documents confirming the existence of family members entitled to receive the pension of the deminer who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance while carrying out demining activities or subsequently died from injuries sustained in such an accident (birth certificates of the relevant persons in the case of children and brothers and sisters raised in orphanages; the deminer's own birth certificate in the case of parents; the deminer's own birth certificate and the birth and death certificates of other first-degree relatives in the case of grandparents; as well as the death certificates of deceased family members);
- The marriage certificate confirming the marriage between the deminer who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance while carrying out demining activities or subsequently died from injuries sustained in such an accident and his or her surviving spouse;
- A certificate from the relevant educational institution confirming that a child or children under the age of 23 of the deminer who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance while carrying out demining activities or subsequently died from injuries sustained in such an accident are studying at a vocational education institution, secondary specialized education institution or higher education institution;
- If the deminer who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance while carrying out demining activities or subsequently died from injuries sustained in such an accident has brothers or sisters raised in orphanages who are under the age of 18 (or, if studying, until they complete their education, but no later than the age of 23), or brothers or sisters over the age of 18 whose disability was established before they reached the age of 18, a certificate from the relevant institution confirming this.
It should be noted that in cases where the proactive assignment of social benefits is not possible, the benefits are assigned by the State Social Protection Fund on the basis of written applications, including electronic applications, submitted by persons entitled to receive them after the date on which their entitlement arises.
In the case of children under the age of 18, as well as persons declared legally incapacitated or having limited legal capacity by a court, applications may be submitted by one of their parents or other legal representatives (adoptive parents, guardians or custodians).
Applications may be submitted to the local offices of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population at the applicant's place of residence or to the DOST centers of the Sustainable and Operational Social Security Agency under the ministry.
Written applications in the specified form may also be submitted to the unified coordination centers handling applications from family members of martyrs, military personnel injured in connection with war, and persons with disabilities.
