"I have never raised the issue of withdrawing Russia's military base from Armenia," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during the government's question-and-answer session in parliament, Armenian media said, APA reports.
Pashinyan noted that he has been in contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since 2018 and has never raised the issue of withdrawing Russia's military base from Armenia since then.
According to him, the issue came onto the agenda following the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit held in Bishkek and talks with Putin.
The Prime Minister stated that if Russia considers it necessary to withdraw its military base from Armenia, Yerevan will not object.
At the same time, Pashinyan said they are also ready to discuss the issue of Russia's military base remaining in Armenia.
