The court Basmannyj of Moscow has arrested the eighth person accused of being involved in the attack on Crocus City Hall, APA reports citing Russian media.
This is a man born in Kyrgyzstan, Alisher Kasimov, who rented an apartment to the perpetrators of the terrorist attack.
"The court received a request from the Investigative Committee to arrest Alisher Kasimov, suspected of Crocus City Hall attack," the court’s press service told TASS.
Kasimov was born in the city of Osh, Kyrgyzstan. He is a citizen of Russia, he has three children, TASS reports from the courtroom.
"I run a cafe in Krasnogorsk, I am an individual entrepreneur," he said in the courtroom.
Alisher Kasimov rented out an apartment to one of the terrorists, Fariduni Shamsutdin, which was used as a base for preparing a terrorist attack.
Answering the judge’s question whether he understood the essence of the charge, Kasimov said that he did not know that his tenants were connected with terrorism - he simply posted an advertisement for renting an apartment on Avito, Mediazona reported.
The court ordered arrest of Alisher Kasimov until May 22. He was sent to a pre-trial detention center.
The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall occurred on the evening of March 22. According to the latest data, 139 people were killed and 182 people were injured. On March 23, the Russian Federal Security Service announced detention of 11 suspects, including 4 alleged perpetrators of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. Seven of them, including citizens of Tajikistan and Russia, were arrested. They will remain in custody until May 22.
