The idea of imposing a moratorium on attacks on ships in the Black Sea is unrealistic, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, attempts to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative by introducing a moratorium on attacks on civilian ships by Russia and Ukraine are unacceptable and unrealistic.
Lavrov recalled that Ukraine had repeatedly abused such agreements by transporting weapons on civilian ships: “Nevertheless, Russia hoped for the unhindered export of its fertilizers and grain, but European countries blocked this part of the agreement.”
It should be noted that the Grain Deal was in force from July 2022 to July 2023.
