“As we observe voting process here, elections are almost democratic and transparent and there are no irregularities,” Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission, told APA Bureau in Tbilisi.
According to him, they have observed voting process in a number of polling stations and elections go in line with the standards.
He added that only 16% of electorate voted by 12.00, and it is not high activeness in voting.
“We can’t say it was high activeness. The rate should have been 20% or 25% for the first half of the day. Below this is not high active participation,” he added.
At invitation of Georgia’s Central Election Commission, Mazahir Panahov and Rovzat Gasimov from Azerbaijan Central Election Commission (CEC) , Rovshan Ismayilov, Ilham Mammadov, Elton Mammadov, Mirkazim Kazimov as GUAM observers, CEC representatives Gabil Orujov, Nizami Nadirov as CIS observers and MP Vidadi Mammadov as observer of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization observe snap presidential elections in Georgia. /APA/
