Central Election Commission reports that the opposition bloc Ata Meken failed to overcome the 0.5% regional barrier in the city Osh.
According to the legislation, parties must gain at least 0.5% of votes in each of the country’s seven regions and Bishkek and Osh cities.
Ata Meken party that gained 590 votes lacked only 80 votes to be represented in the parliament. The opposition said they had copies of the vote count from polling stations that prove that they gained over 3,000 votes in Osh.
Following the official statement of Central Election Commission, women candidates from Ata Meken party started hunger strike.
They accuse the government of rigging the vote. /APA/
