Baku-APA. Expert of the Sextet of countries negotiating the Iranian nuclear program - five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany - and Iranian representatives met at the table of negotiations in Vienna Monday night to discuss practical steps under the agreements reached at the ministerial level in Geneva at the end of November, APA reports quoting Itar-Tass.
“The talks will continue Tuesday,” he said. “The political document signed in Geneva contains many technical problems the approaches to which are yet to be found.”
Also, technical consultations between international experts and Iran are due to begin December 11 here in Vienna, which is home to the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency /IAEA/. The consultations will focus on the steps that are to be made for the verification of agreements reached by Teheran at the Sextet at the political level.
IAEA Director General Yukia Amano said earlier IAEA would need some time to draft an appropriate plan but experts indicate it may be drafted already by the yearend.
Iran and the IAEA have already gotten down to practical steps on contentious issues listed in their bilateral agreement on cooperation.
As of December 8, IAEA experts received access to and began inspection of the enterprises in the Iranian city of Arak that produces heavy water.
