Baku-APA. A roadside bomb attack killed at least four Pakistani soldiers in North Waziristan tribal region on Thursday, military sources said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded near a convoy of the security forces in Spinwam area of North Waziristan tribal agency, the sources said.
Seven other soldiers were wounded in the attack, they said.
"The IED was planted by miscreants on roadside," the sources said.
A Taliban splinter group "Ansar-ul-Mujahideen" claimed responsibility for the attack.
The group's spokesman, Abu Baseer, told media that the blast was part of the revenge attacks to the killing of the Taliban chief, Hakimullah Mehsud.
Mehsud was killed in a U.S. drone attack last month along with five other militants when the U.S. spy aircraft targeted his vehicle.
