The United States asked Israel to stop striking energy infrastructure, particularly oil facilities, in Iran, APA reports citing Axios.
According to the report, the US conveyed the message to senior Israeli officials, as well as to Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.
Additionally, they justified their request by claiming that strikes on energy sites harm the Iranian people, who are mainly against the regime, and could spark massive retaliatory attacks on energy facilities in the Gulf countries.
Washington also said that US President Donald Trump wants to cooperate with Iran's oil sector after the war.
