Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Jens Stoltenberg stated on Monday that the military alliance will discuss its relations with Russia and China at the upcoming summit in Brussels with United States President Joe Biden in attendance, APA reports.

Stoltenberg asserted that the ties between Russia and NATO are at their worst level since the Cold War. Additionally, he put the majority of the blame on Russia for the strained relations, saying that the cause of it is the country's "aggressive steps."

However, he noted that the alliance does want a dialogue with Russia and said it will hold consultations with Biden ahead of his meeting with Russia's president.

Meanwhile, in relation to China, Stoltenberg stated that NATO needs to act more in response to China's growth, especially when it comes to the country's military power, and that it will be one of the main topics at the summit. Finally, he added that China's "coercive stance creates problems."
