Pashinyan: Restoration of historic Ani Bridge on Armenia–Türkiye border to begin soon

Restoration work on the historic Ani Bridge located on the Armenia–Türkiye border will begin soon, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a briefing today, News.am reports.

"We have agreed to carry out joint work on the restoration of the bridge. The joint project has been approved, and in order to avoid procedural difficulties, it was decided that the Turkish side would announce a tender, while the Republic of Armenia would also sign a contract with the winning company. We will complete these procedures soon, and the restoration process of the historic Ani Bridge will begin," Nikol Pashinyan noted.

It should be noted that on May 4 this year, Armenia and Türkiye signed a memorandum of understanding on the restoration of the Ani Bridge in Yerevan on the sidelines of the 8th European Political Community Summit.
