It is proposed to grant individuals engaged in domestic freight transportation the right to apply a simplified tax at a rate of 8% as an alternative taxation option for their income for a period of five years, APA reports.
This is reflected in a proposed amendment to the Tax Code.
It was noted that domestic freight transportation is one of the main service sectors ensuring the continuity of the economy's supply chain, and a significant proportion of businesses operating in this sector consists of small entrepreneurs and individual carriers.
Currently, the inability of carriers to officially document certain expenses increases the risks of incomplete declaration of turnover and informal activities in some cases. Granting the right to apply an alternative simplified tax at a rate of 8% for five years will help simplify tax obligations in this sector, reduce administrative costs, and increase voluntary compliance among entrepreneurs.
In addition to encouraging the formalization of freight transportation services, this mechanism will have a positive impact on increasing the transparency of logistics costs and creating a level playing field in the market.
