On November 4, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Head of the Central Office, and member of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), Tahir Budagov, attended the 46th meeting of the ICAPP Standing Committee held in Seoul, South Korea, as part of the 13th ICAPP General Assembly, APA reports.
During the meeting, ICAPP's current activities were reviewed, and the organization's future work plan was presented. The importance of further improving the organization's activities, strengthening its institutional capacity, and expanding international cooperation was emphasized. The need to promote mutual exchange of experience among political parties, develop platforms for dialogue and cooperation, and increase joint efforts to address global challenges was also highlighted.
Subsequently, information was provided on preparations for the 13th ICAPP General Assembly, held with the participation of 83 political parties representing 36 countries. Candidates from five countries (Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Malaysia, and Vietnam), including YAP Deputy Chairman and Head of the Central Office Tahir Budagov, were nominated for vice-chairmanship positions in the Bureau.
At the Standing Committee meeting, views were also exchanged on the draft Seoul Declaration, which will be adopted at the closing session of the General Assembly, and proposed amendments to the ICAPP Charter.
Current issues such as developing dialogue among political parties, promoting sustainable peace and stability, strengthening democratic governance, utilizing the opportunities of artificial intelligence for the common good, and combating climate change were also discussed.
