Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloghlu – APA. An event has today been held on the 9th anniversary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and professional holiday of the ministry’s employees.
Azerbaijan’s national anthem was performed at the beginning of the event which took place in the ministry’s central office, APA reports.
Addressing the event, Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kemaleddin Heydarov congratulated the ministry’s employees on their professional holiday, adding that Azerbaijan has made great strides under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He said the awarding of the ministry’s employees with honorary names, orders, and medals and their promotion to higher military and special ranks is a good example of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev’s high attention and care to the Ministry of Emergency Situations to encourage them to work even more efficiently.
It was noted that the works were done for the consolidation of the material-technical base of the ministry’s structures, construction of administrative, service buildings and facilities, major repairs of old objects. Emergency authorities was in the forefront of state-building, ensured our citizens’ living in peace and safety of them and their properties this year as it was in previous years. Appropriate measures were taken for timely detection and prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences during the year. The ministry also focused on operating conditions in the field of fire protection.
On behalf of all the staff of the ministry, the minister expressed gratitude to President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev for his care and attention to the Ministry of Emergency Situations and assured the head of the state that the ministry’s employees would use all their energy and skills to further fulfill their responsible, but also honorable task of protecting the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies and be among top founders of ever-changing and developing Azerbaijan.
The orders signed by President Ilham Aliyev to confer high military ranks on employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and award a group of employees orders and medals were read out at the event.
Kemaleddin Heydarov presented prizes to a group of employees awarded by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Moreover, a number of employees of the ministry who distinguished themselves in service were awarded under the order of Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov.
During the event, an appeal to President Ilham Aliyev was approved. The appeal says that over the last nine years huge work has been done on eliminating emergency situations, the volume of losses significantly reduced, human casualties reduced to minimum: “Emergency situations authorities today set up their work in line with the present day’s demands. Each achievement we attained over the past period is thanks to your care for the ministry’s personnel. The awarding of the ministry employees is a good example for this care. We owe our gratitude to you You for that. We assure You that we will always stand ready for the protection of the population and area from emergency situations”.
The ministry’s action plan for 2015 was also ratified at the event. K. Heydarov said the ministry’s employees have worked for the Azerbaijani people to live, work, and rest in safety:
“Once again, I would like to thank President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev on behalf of myself and MES personnel. The president paid special attention to the provision of the ministry with modern equipment and the development of staff potential. I once again extend our gratitude to the president,” he noted.
