Development of microfinance and financial inclusion discussed in Azerbaijan

Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Toghrul Aliyev met with Katarzyna Pawlak, Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance Centre, the CBA said, APA-Economics reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed steps taken by the Central Bank to develop entrepreneurship and microfinance in Azerbaijan, strategic priorities for financial inclusion, and prospects for expanding the application of innovations and technological solutions in the financial sector.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the role of non-bank credit institutions in the development of the financial sector and businesses, as well as measures taken to expand their activities. In this context, the importance of strengthening cooperation between international partners and regulatory authorities was emphasized.
