Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis said Thursday they had targeted King Fahd International Airport in the Saudi city of Dammam with a drone, claiming the attack disrupted air traffic, Iran International reports.
The group’s military spokesman said the operation had achieved its objective, according to statements carried by Houthi-run Al Masirah television.
Yahya Saree also accused Saudi aircraft of carrying out 61 airstrikes on Sanaa and several Yemeni provinces over the previous 24 hours, claiming they struck civilian sites and left dozens dead or wounded.
He said the strikes were conducted by F-15 and Typhoon aircraft and targeted areas in Al Jawf, Taiz, Saada, Marib, Lahj, Al Dhale, Ibb, Hodeidah and Hajjah, as well as the capital.
