"There are four main areas of cooperation between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan, including Nakhchivan. The first is infrastructure, particularly railways. Today, we discussed opportunities to benefit from the UK's expertise in areas such as project management, railway modernization, and signaling systems. The United Kingdom is also interested in supporting Nakhchivan's development in the field of green energy," British Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman, who is visiting the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, said in an interview with journalists, APA reports.
He stated that he has been serving as ambassador to Azerbaijan for six months. Noting that his first visit was to Garabagh and his second to Nakhchivan, the ambassador said he had held meetings with the Representative Plenipotentiary of the President of Azerbaijan in the Autonomous Republic and the leadership of Nakhchivan.
He also said that he had visited the railway station and several cultural sites, including palaces and museums.
"I learned a lot about Nakhchivan. As far as I know, Nakhchivan has 250 sunny days a year. Overall, Nakhchivan is a very favorable location for solar energy. Thus, energy is the second area of cooperation," he said.
