The hearing presided over by judge Abid Abdinbeyov took place in the absence of journalists.
Lawyer Fuad Aghayev said that the Court of Appeal conditionally sentenced Mirkadirov to five years.
Mirgadirov, who was released in the courtroom, in his statement to reporters thanked those who defended him and said he has some health problems.
Mirgadirov said that the decision on conditional release doesn’t mean acquittal. “I will try to be acquitted.”
Mirgadirov was charged with treason (Article 274). The Baku Court of Grave Crimes has sentenced him to six years in jail - the judgment against which the appeal was filed, asking the court for acquittal.
