Number of COVID-2019 cases across globe exceeds 500 million - WHO

The overall number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide has exceeded 500 million and the number of fatalities has exceeded 6.19 million, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Thursday, APA reports.

As of 21:36 Moscow time on April 14, as many as 500,186,525 novel coronavirus cases and 6,190,349 coronavirus-associated deaths were registered across the globe. The number of confirmed cases grew by 948,865 over the past day and the number of fatalities increased by 4,175.

The WHO statistics is based on officially confirmed data from the countries.

The biggest number of coronavirus cases was reported from the United States (79,716,960), India (43,039,023), Brazil (30,183,929), France (26,525,319), and Germany (23,182,447).

The biggest number of fatalities was reported from the United States (979,321), Brazil (661,493), India (521,737), Russia (372,766), and Mexico (323,805).
